Bamboo Basket was founded in July 2010 by three individuals from diverse backgrounds, brought together by the common love of tea and Chinese cultural heritage.  

Opportunity and good fortune led to the meeting of minds and for the formation of the company, which is focused on: 

   - Sourcing the best quality tea direct from suppliers and tea growers in China 

   - Sourcing a range of carefully selected artistic Chinese products from suppliers with exemplary quality achievements; primarily glass 

     teaware, Yixing purple sand teapots, tea accessories and chopsticks. 

   - Providing freshly cooked Chinese based food, prepared daily without colourings, additives or preservatives 

  

Bamboo Basket is focused on quality and service. All products available from our on-line shop are also available from our Epsom shop, and are also the products we use every day to enhance our own personal enjoyment of the food and tea we supply. The products we sell are what we use and enjoy, and we truly believe you will enjoy them as well.   

  

2013 - secured lease to the shop next to the original unit to offer indoor seating and extending the outdoor seating area 

  

2013 - Bamboo Basket gained a Gold Award from Surrey County Council for healthy eating in the prestigious 'Eat Out Eat Well' scheme 

  

2013 - Bamboo Basket awarded Runner-up in the Epsom and Ewell Business Excellence Awards for 'Best Restaurant or Pub' 

  

2014 - Bamboo Basket awarded as Runner-up in the Epsom and Ewell Business Excellence Awards for 'Best Business in Epsom & Epsom Downs' 

  

2015 - Opened second store, Bamboo Shoots, in Jeffries Passage, Guildford 

  

2016 - Bamboo Shoots gained a Gold Award from Surrey County Council for healthy eating in the prestigious 'Eat Out Eat Well' scheme 

  

2016 - Bamboo Basket Winner in the Epsom and Ewell Business Excellence Awards of the 'Best Business for Food and  Hospitality' 

  

2017 - Opened kitchen for a 6 month residency in The Three Lords public house at The Minories, City of London,
