WHAT IS BLOOMING FLOWER TEA
Blooming flower tea, also called flowering tea or artisan tea, is a carefully selected bundle of dried tea leaves and flowers tied together by hand with cotton thread and formed into a ball. When steeped with hot water, the ball unfurls like a blooming flower in the cup or pot to give a beautiful floral display combined with a classic green tea or jasmine flavoured liquor.
Only high grade white and green tea leaves are used and the extremely time consuming assembly process requires great skill and patience.
Some tea leaves are used directly for the assembly whilst others are scented with jasmine flowers The flowers used are picked young and fresh to retain scent and flavour, and also to preserve the delicate petals. The leaves are hand-tied with the flowers to make blooming flower teas.
